Qualifications needed:

  • Driving License (Required)
  • Access to vehicle (required)
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and policies
  • Good writing skills
  • A diploma in Social Care is an advantage
  • A genuine concern for people’s welfare
  • Organized, flexible, and responsive
  • Experience an advantage however full training provided

Job Description

Your daily duties could include: depending on service users needs

  • Supporting individuals to live independently in their own home
  • Meal preparation and feeding, light domestic duties like cleaning, laundry and shopping
  • Moving & handling, using equipment where required
  • Companionship which could include playing a board game, or simply being someone to talk too, don't be just a 'carer'
  • Getting to know clients and their interests and needs
  • Helping with personal care like bathing, dressing or using the toilet
  • Acquiring, securing and giving out medication
  • Helping clients manage their budget, paying bills and writing letters/emails
  • Supporting families as they get used to new caring responsibilities
  • Taking clients on days out and helping to organise leisure activities
  • Working with other health and social care professionals to provide individual care and development plans
