Care Assistant

Care Assistant Wheathampstead, England

MacIntyre
Full Time Wheathampstead, England 11.15 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

Is your career in care as rewarding as it could be? Are you frustrated with unrealistic schedules that leave no time for the people you support?

Why not join MacIntyre? You will work with the same people regularly and have the opportunity to build long term life changing relationships.

We're looking for full-time Support Workers to join the friendly team at our Supported Living Service in Wheathampstead. The team support three fantastic adults who have a learning disability.

What will your day be like?

You'll be part of our friendly team of support workers based in Wheathampstead, a village located between St. Albans and Luton, where we support five adults aged 18 to 60 who each have a learning disability. A lot of the fun happens on the move, so you must be a driver with a manual licence. Don't worry you won't be racing between appointments. Your ability to drive unlocks the opportunities for them to do the things they really enjoy.

We have a lot of fun here! Everyone likes to get out and about as much as possible and we regularly go for walks and visit the cinema. You'll join in with other popular activities such as visiting the local zoo and the ice skating rink. Closer to home, we make the most of the scenic village with frequent shopping trips that normally end in a local coffee shop or pub.

At home, people enjoy sensory activities utilising our range of specialist equipment. Not everything is high tech though - sometimes you just can't beat reading a good story!

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota basis which include days, evenings and weekends.

" I started a career in domiciliary care as I wanted to help people. It was frustrating having to walk away from people who needed my support. I'm glad I have discovered MacIntyre and the chance to go home happy at the end of a shift knowing that I have made a difference" Feedback at a recent MacIntyre careers event
