We have an amazing opportunity for you to join MacIntyre and work with 6 fabulous adult men in their home in Flackwell Heath area. You will care for, support and build long lasting relationships with Tom, Greg, Austen, Paul, Jim and Pete* and become part of our growing team for these gentlemen.

If you have little or no previous experience in care, we still want to hear from you! we will provide you with an extensive care training package whilst you are getting to know and work with these amazing individuals. If you care about having a positive impact on the people you work with, if you think you can be part of a team who will work together to create a warm, cosy and fulfilling home environment for Tom, Greg, Austen, Paul, Jim and Pete* we want to hear from you today!.

Things that are important to us about our Support Workers :-

  • Be nice, open and friendly
  • Tell jokes – we all have wicked senses of humour!
  • Make the effort to engage and communicate with us all
  • Use Makaton signs, symbols and objects of reference so that everyone is included (MacIntyre provide communication training around all of these methods)

Things you need to know about us:-

  • We love meeting new people and are very welcoming to new people that come to our home
  • We all have different but great senses of humour, we need staff that are fun and comfortable being a little bit silly!
  • We are a house of music and love having the radio on – sometimes full blast!
  • We like to clean and cook in our home when supported in a positive way.
  • Jim* I am very sensory and understand and enjoy the world through touching and exploring objects with different textures; Lego is a favourite!
  • Things we quite like when we to go out are….. the pub, eating out, social clubs, volunteering with local groups, disco’s, walking, family visiting, Church coffee mornings and Sunday service.
  • We love a party and a good old dance – so be prepared to get on your dancing shoes and come for a boogie!
  • We love to celebrate any and all festive calendar events – so there is always something on or to look forward to!

Training and Development

At Macintyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.

But it doesn't stop there - throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated in house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR Teams. These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities - all free of charge.
