Job description
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate and stimulating live-in Care Assistant to join home care team.
Work hours. As one of a care team of 3, to provide care over 4 days (Wed 9pm through to Mon 7am, with 5 hour breaks on Thurs and Fri), with specific night care not anticipated.
Tasks. Supervision following recent fall and hip operation, companionship, meal preparation, administer medications, delivery to / attendance at appointments or activities. Prompting for, or assisting with as required: personal cleanliness, clothes dressing, meals, accompanying for brief dog walks. Maintenance of clean safe and stimulating environment, responding to requests for assistance, liaison with family and other care team members. Dog friendliness essential. Interest in art, cooking and gardening especially welcome.
Care Assistant experience (NISCC registered) of 1year minimum preferable.
Driving license not essential.
The person needing care is a widow, age 82, with dementia. She is a dog owner.
Currently receiving rehabilitation care following recent hip operation, to return to previous active life with frequent dog walking. Professionally an accident and emergency doctor, she was also a proficient artist, gardener and hostess. She now struggles with these interests and other tasks. No longer driving. Has excellent neighbours, weekly cleaner and gardener, and frequent visits from family and friends.

Part-time hours: 46 per week
Salary: £640.00-£760.00 per week
