Job description
We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Breast/Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. This friendly, supportive team are dedicated to the provision of the best quality patient care. The Support Worker will work closely with the other Cancer Support workers and Cancer Services to assist the Cancer Nurse Specialists in providing patient related support and coordinating administrative support to help with the smooth running of the service. This involves supporting patients, both face to face, via telephone and in group sessions, who are referred by the clinical teams as well as those patients/relatives seeking information, advice and support at the Macmillan Centre. This will include supporting the team: in the clinic setting; in carrying out telephone support to patients; undertaking holistic needs assessments and care planning and organising and providing personalised care and support activities for people living with and beyond cancer, the role will also involve carrying out office based duties. Full training will be given and there may be opportunities for ongoing career development.
