The role
The Campus Data Analyst is a role in the Campus Smart Technology Team. This team is relatively new and consists of experts in a range of areas, including building services design and commissioning, building management engineering, and data engineering.
Our team is key to enabling the development of a Smart & Digital Campus through the deployment of operational technology. Examples of such technology might be sensors monitoring environmental conditions and controls which operate building services responsively based on real-time data.
The successful candidate will support delivery of the Campus Division Smart Campus strategy, Campus Division Data Plan and the wider University Data Programme.
What will you be doing?
The Campus Data Analyst will work closely with colleagues in the Smart Technology Team inform and measure the impact of Smart Technology initiatives.
Working with another Campus Data Analyst, the role holder will contribute towards evidence-based strategic and operational planning and decision-making through the provision of high-quality Campus related business intelligence and management information.
Using robust data management principles, the role holder will be required to resolve complex problems where there is a mass of information and often diverse, partial and conflicting data, with a range of potential options available.

We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual with experience in a data profession. Candidates must be comfortable managing and analysing large volumes of disparate data. Candidates are encouraged to apply if they have knowledge and experience with business intelligence tools or automated data processing for analytics. An ideal candidate will be able to apply robust statistical methods to support their findings and be comfortable presenting findings to a wide range of audiences with a range of understanding. They may also possess strong leadership qualities, demonstrating the ability to inspire and influence others towards embracing change.
In addition, a knowledge or passion for the implementation new technologies is welcome, particularly in the building services context. By fostering collaboration and engaging stakeholders at all levels, the successful candidate will help in creating a culture of innovation and change throughout the Division.
