CAMP COUNSELOR AT MERRITT CLUBS CANTON
Merritt Clubs will offer a wide variety of day camps for children during the Summer of 2023. We are looking for energetic camp counselors who will enjoy interacting with the children of our members and guests, while fostering a safe and comforting environment to all participants. Qualified candidates will have a drive to succeed and have a background or genuine interest in care giving or childhood education and development.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greet all members, guests, and children with a smile, by name whenever possible.
- Maintain a clean, professional and organized workspace including play areas, stations, and other common areas.
- Listen to members and children to resolve concerns or complaints whenever possible.
- Ensure a clean, safe, nurturing and fun environment for the children attending Camps in the Kids Zone and other club areas.
- Provide an enjoyable, enriching and educational Camp experience for all participants.
- Facilitate youth Camp activities including field trips, exercise, aquatics, dance, youth fitness, arts & crafts, and other programs.
- Recommend enhancements to Camp activities to leadership.
- Promote harmony among the children, attempting to minimize conflict.
- Respond to each child’s needs promptly.
- Inform parents of issues relating to their child, and notify parents of concerns immediately.
- Exhibit good listening skills when conflict or discipline issues arise, and problem solve in a professional manner.
- Report accidents or injuries to Management immediately, and assist in documenting incident appropriately.
- Maintain professionalism at all times and avoid eating, sitting, reading, texting and all other activities that are not work related.
Qualified applicants must be available to work the entire summer and at least 16 years of age. Previous experience working with children preferred, but not required.

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
