Job description
This is a key time to be joining British Airways as we Build a Better BA. We take huge pride in our past – but we’re looking to the future as an airline that loves embracing the best of modern Britain. Our country’s creativity, diversity, style, wit and warmth are the same special qualities that make us who we are. If you’re made of the same qualities as us, you could soon be part of the next chapter of our story. Together as one team, we’re connecting Britain with the world and the world to Britain like no one else
We manage the airworthiness of our diverse fleet of aircraft from delivery to disposal to the highest standards required to ensure our passengers and crew remain safe. We have developed an effective safety management system which hinges on the knowledge and experience of key personnel within the continuing airworthiness management (CAMO) team.
The Role
As a CAMO Quality Engineer you play a key role as a member of a small team focused on ensuring required standards are met and safety risks effectively mitigated through oversight of BA Engineering and our contracted suppliers. Interfacing and influencing decisions at all levels across the business, working together to ensure high standards and promoting continuous improvement.
You will use your knowledge of regulation, BA requirements and expertise in using SAP as our continuing airworthiness compliance tool to monitor compliance and safety standards effectiveness. You will conduct audits, aircraft surveys, investigations, analyse data, assess audit finding responses, documentations reviews and assess safety risks and mitigations.
What we’re looking for
This is a role that will call upon your impressive leadership, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills.
Essentially your knowledge of SAP allows you to be able to effectively review and demonstrate compliance of both aircraft and components to the standard required for renewal of an aircraft airworthiness review certificate (ARC). To qualify as an ARC signatory and CAA Form 4 holder you will have at least five years experience in continuing airworthiness management as required by CAMO.A.310.
Ideally you will have established experience as a lead auditor in aviation regulation including Part-M/Part-CAMO and Part-145.
Your qualifications will include an Engineering Apprenticeship and HNC/D, plus an Part 66 Cat B license or equivalent qualification. You will also need to hold a full UK EC/EEA manual driving licence. Experience as a Quality Assurance and Compliance Engineer is preferred with a detailed knowledge of Part M/Part CAMO, Part 145 and Part 21. Qualifications in Lead auditor, NEBOSH and Form 4 holders are also desirable.
Our Corporate and Support roles come with big potential to make your mark on our business. The airline industry changes so fast that we’re constantly evolving and finding new ways to impress customers and get ahead of our competitors. If you’re an innovator and brave and bold thinker, you will be in your element at British Airways.
Your impact on British Airways will be rewarded with a competitive rewards package plus the opportunity to develop and progress your career in many directions.
Not only will you have the chance to further your career development within BA, you’ll have access to our competitive reward and benefits package. This includes core company paid benefits such as a Defined Contribution pension scheme, generous Life Assurance cover and a whole host of options to support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing. You can also sign up for a range of voluntary benefits such as Private Medical cover, Dental and Critical Illness cover, Technology Scheme, Cycle to Work and Electric Car Scheme. And of course, you’ll be able to enjoy the benefit of staff travel as soon as you join us
