POSITION DESCRIPTION
POST TITLE: CamGlen Radio Events Worker
HOURS OF WORK: 17.5 hours per week – evenings & weekend work will be required.
(Initially funded until April 2024)
SALARY GRADE: £11.60 per hour
RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Team Leader – Camglen Radio
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The key purpose of this role is to:
- Coordinate CamGlen Radio’s live events programme, CamGlen Radio Presents, hosting live music events that promote CamGlen Radio featured local artists/bands as well as other creative initiatives (theatre, drama, comedy) in
Healthy n Happy’s Number 18 venue in Rutherglen.
- Through live creative events, generate revenue and income for CamGlen Radio’s to sustain its community radio station operations.
- Broadcast live and recorded CamGlen Presents events regularly on CamGlen
Radio.
- As part of the HealthynHappy team, work with and support local residents and the wider community to participate in a thriving and diverse full-time community radio station and CamGlen Radio Presents music events.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CamGlen Radio Delivery and Programmes
a. Alongside the Senior Team Leader, CamGlen Radio, develop and implement an annual calendar of live creative events for CamGlen Radio, headlining CamGlen Radio featured artists and bands and other creative initiatives, in
Healthy n Happy’s community venue, Number 18 and broadcast on CamGlen Radio.
b. Work with the Senior Team Leader, CamGlen Radio on income generation targets, aiming to achieve profitable and regular income generation for CamGlen Radio.
c. Coordinate and support a CamGlen Radio events team to plan and deliver regular live music/creative events, including local music events alongside live creative events, eg, youth music and/or creative arts
(theatre/drama/comedy) events for live audiences and broadcasts on CamGlen Radio.
d. Manage relationships and bookings with CamGlen Radio featured artists/bands, developing a viable programme of artists/band performances for CamGlen Radio Presents.
e. Oversee marketing and promotion with a view to driving high levels of ticket sales, including driving sales through bands/artist’s own promotional pathways.
f. Produce high quality content, information resources and promotional materials. Create and disseminate in print, web and social media formats with management and staff/volunteer team input.
g. Assist with promotion of CamGlen Presents regularly on CamGlen Radio, including regular radio adverts, interviews with artists, ticket sales, promos and listener competitions and regular promotion of live and recorded broadcast events to encourage a wide radio listening audience as well as gig attendance. g. Develop key relationships with key live event promoters/promotional pathways and regularly promote CamGlen
Presents as well as HealthynHappy activities as required h. Alongside the Senior Team Leaders for CamGlen Radio and Number 18, ensure all licencing requirements are up to date/acquired. i. Host regular event team meetings to ensure plans are on track and all milestones are met. j. Coordinate event and production preparation and set up/sound checks – including live and recorded broadcasts on CamGlen radio & video media streaming arrangements (eg, Facebook/Youtube etc). k. Ensure all events are appropriately staffed, risk assessments and contingency planning are all in place. l. Manage and support on-site production and logistics at live music events/gigs, troubleshooting any arising issues. m. Work with events team to regularly review live events and work collaboratively building in learning and continuous quality improvement. n. As part of the CamGlen Radio team, as required provide support for CamGlen Radio’s activities & broadcast operations. h. Proactively raise the profile of HealthynHappy & CamGlen Radio with potential referrers, partners, funders and communities through effective communication/promotion. Actively and regularly network with a range of local contacts, developing positive connections and working relationships.
