Job Title: Calibration / Simulation Engineer
Salary: £50,000 - £56,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location : Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Benefits: 25 days annual leave,

Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Engineer with engine experience to join the Virtual Calibration Team. The team are focused on the delivery of engine calibration using Matlab-Simulink based engine and aftertreatment models. Therefore, the successful incumbent must have experience in diesel engine combustion, performance and/or emissions calibration. You will work with wider business to lead projects for the team and provide technical support for team members. You will have responsibility for delivering simulation work that supports testing, development and sign-off across a range of Perkins engine programmes. The role will give you the opportunity to develop your career and be involved in new technology projects that shape the business future.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Conduct and/or direct simulation-based & physical engine tests for engine performance development
Deliver engine calibration for production products
Demonstrate your work meets the technical requirements
Work closely with other parts of the engineering team to achieve the Product and Technical Objectives
Develop tools & process to improve task automation
Write requirements, procedures, and reports and formally present on test outcomes
Plan, manage and deliver work to tight time scales and to right quality
Skills and Experience:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and/or relevant job-related experience
Competent with using Matlab-Simulink for model optimisation or other Design of Experiment based modelling tools and/or competent with Engine calibration using simulation-based or physical engine tests
Proven ability to lead technical projects and direct the work of team members
Knowledge of statistical data modelling and analysis techniques for optimisation
Candidates will have gained some the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Interpretation of engine data to improve performance & identify quality issues
Understanding of engine and/or aftertreatment control strategies
Awareness of engine test, calibration tools, emissions measuring equipment and test data logging systems
Use of Matlab, Python or VB scripts to automate tasks
Version Control tools for tracking software changes
