TRAINEE CALIBRATION ENGINEER (UKAS Dimensional Lab)
STARTING PAY... £21,674 (rising with experience)
Applications are also welcome from experienced calibration engineers with a corresponding adjustment to starting pay.
THE WORK
This is a TRAINEE position. It is a hands-on role and you will be working in the mechanical laboratory calibrating measuring equipment such as micrometers, DTIs, torque wrenches.
QUALIFICATIONS
We require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C(5) or above.
These should include Mathematics, English Language, Combined Science (or Physics). Design & Technology would be an advantage.
Relevant 'A' Levels, BTEC, BTEC Higher or even a Science Degree would be an advantage.
ABOUT YOU
As a TRAINEE we're not expecting you to have any experience of this kind of work but if you have any practical hobbies where you use tools and / or use your hands that would be a good start.
To progress in the role, you'll need strong practical skills with a natural aptitude and genuine interest in carrying out delicate mechanical work involving high levels of concentration.
Your hand writing should be clear and legible and you'll also need exceptional levels of attention to detail.
You should also be prepared to work extra hours at times to meet customer deadlines.
A full UK driving license (car) would be an advantage.

On the job training will be given.
