Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring all measuring instruments and testing devices are calibrated in accordance with Manufacturers specifications/Requirements standards, ensuring any items that do not meet the specific working requirements are quarantined and removed from service for either repaired or replacement.
To undertake the following calibration tasks
o Pressure.
o Flow.
o Ph, and Conductivity.
o Weight.
o Handheld measuring equipment.
o Voltage & Current (AC/DC)
o PAT Testing.
Responsible for the following Calibrated Equipment
o Pressure Gauges/Transmitters.
o Bore Mic’s/Micrometers.
o Depth Gauges.
o Laboratory Micro Balances.
o Temperature Probes/Thermal Couples.
o Flow Meters (Electronic Turbine / Rotameter).
- Ensure all Health and Safety/Safe Working Practices are always adhered to.
- Identify opportunities for improvement that will benefit in terms of performance, safety, efficiency and provide a cost benefit.
- Accurately record and document calibration activities using the Sharepoint database.
- Escalate any faults including estimated time of recovery and to provide regular progress updates to the relevant manager/managers.
- Participate in the creation of standard working documents, local instructions etc.
- Work with suppliers for onsite calibration to plant and equipment.
- Ordering and replenishment of spare parts and components to complete calibration repairs.
Experience & Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, including:
- Proven relevant engineering experience.
- An understanding of the technical processes and tools associated with calibrating, scientific knowledge.
- Proven ability to fault find on electrical and mechanical equipment
- Excellent problem-solving experience
- Engineering HNC/HND Electrical qualification or equivalent
- Instrumentation and Process Control (essential)
- Excellent analytical, fault finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Team player – capable of working with others, whilst delivering objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, conveying accurate and concise information at all levels.
- Innovative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
- Cost conscious and able to work to budget.
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., CAD, MS Office, MS Project)
- Excellent attention to detail.
