Job description
The Cafe is set within an independent living unit providing freshly cooked meals to both residents and the general public, meals can be eaten within the cafe or delivered to individual flats within the complex. A Meals on Wheels service is also offered to Okehampton and surrounding areas.
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week), working every other weekend, full driving licence essential as will be delivering Meals on Wheels to local community. Experience in cooking desirable but not essential as training will be given.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Café Assistant
Hours: 08.30 to 15.30, alternate weekends and Bank Holiday’s
Reports to: Café Manager
Summary of Post
- Assisting in day to day running of café.
- Preparation of meals.
- Ensuring areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Reporting of faulty kitchen equipment.
- Providing excellent customer service.
General Duties
- To prepare and cook food to the required standard.
- To ensure the cleanliness of the café kitchen, dining area and stores at all times.
- To assist with washing up, loading and unloading dishwasher throughout the day.
- Deal with deliveries and put away.
- To take orders and serve residents and general public.
- Checking food is used within best before dates.
- To provide excellent customer service when dealing with residents and general public.
- Delivering meals to residents room and/or Meals on Wheels.
- To perform other duties as may be required by Café or Assistant manager.
