We are currently recruiting friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic staff to work in our Food Chain Café within our visitor attraction. This position is to assist within the cafe 5 star levels of customer service and a strong focus on meeting the customers’ needs whilst engaging with visitors to meet Visit Scotland’s 5 star standards. Applicants must be able to work weekdays with some weekends when required.
Rate of pay and terms: £10.42 per hour, on a Zero hour contract.
Job specification
- Serving cafe food, ordering additional food from the kitchen as required
- Stocking and re-stocking food and beverage items, cutlery and condiments as required
- Manning the servery, responding to visitor queries/requests, clearing trays, ordering additional food from the kitchen as required
- Use of till system, cash and credit/debit card handling
- Maintaining the café, surrounding area and servery in a tidy and presentable manner – ensuring strictly hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
- Setting out and clearing tables as directed
- Adaptable and able to working different areas of the café operations
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their Supervisor/Café Manager which may be necessary from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the department
Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Coffee making / barista experience is useful although not essential as full training is given
- Food hygiene certificate would be advantageous, however online Flow training will be given.
