Job description
Following the successful launch in Leicestershire of the National Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) Scheme in 2015, our cadet programme is growing from strength to strength.
We currently have almost 300 cadets in nine different units across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The scheme offers young people aged 13-17 the chance to learn more about policing, and volunteer to help their communities.
We welcome cadets from any background, social group, gender, ethnicity, ability / disability and whether you have an interest in the police or not.
We especially welcome young people who may have previously been in trouble with the police or may feel some disconnection with their peers and community.
Thanks to the cadets, Leicestershire Police is able to better tackle issues that matter to local people. Cadets give up their time and energy for the benefit of the community and the people who are a part of it.
We have cadet units spread throughout the county which run for 1.5 to 2 hours between the times of 5pm and 9pm. Actual times will be confirmed closer to the academic year.
