Department: Projects Team Reporting to: Projects Design Team

Location: Gillingham, Kent Hours of Work: 08:30am-5:00pm

Purpose of the Role:

As an AutoCAD operator/ Trainee Designer, you will learn how to produce accurate, high quality drawings for the projects
department, compiled from various information sources such as site sketches to architectural building layouts. These will be
produced following our standard drawing specifications, and then need to be accurately archived within our system.

You will embark on our in-house training scheme to improve AutoCAD knowledge and general training in our business and
how it operates. It will also include fire alarm design principles and site visits with our onsite teams. It is envisaged that this
role would grow into a full design position.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Tasks:
Once trained you will carry out the following duties:

• Use CAD systems for production of all drawings
• Compile layout drawings for approval, construction and record purposes
• Developing system schematic diagrams
• Production of equipment and Interface schedules
• Monitoring collaboration websites and liaising with architect/consultants/trade contractors for changes and updating

Skills:

• Computer literate, working experience of AutoCAD
• Good written, oral and numerical skills. Excellent telephone manner
• Excellent attitude towards career development
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work as a team member, but on your own when required
• Desire to learn the legal and regulatory compliance for the fire industry
• Attendance of client Factory Witness Tests as required
• Site Surveys and installation verification as required
• Preparation of design documentation ready for commissioning
• Excellent customer service
• Problem solving
