CAD Technician - Interior Design Winchester, England
Job description
We are looking for an experienced CAD technician to refresh our Vectorworks system setup, style, and deliverables. The role will be initially to lead the setup of file access for multiple users, master sheets, drawing styles, layouts, export and filing of all CAD deliverables.
After this initial set up to allow for multiple users the work package would involve the following:
- Support with managing and maintaining the Max Rollitt drawing templates and details library.
- Work with in-house designers to translate interior design concept images and sketches into technical drawings.
- Prepare schematic layouts, elevations, general arrangements, and interior architectural details to tender and construction stage.
- Prepare joinery and furniture drawings working to a brief.
- Working on multiple projects liaising with the Lead Designers to ensure project timescales are maintained.
- Attending meetings at our studio and on site as required.
- Support to maintain drawing office records.
- Work as an external member of the core team.
About you:
- 2-3 years’ experience working with or in an interior design or architectural studio.
- Highly proficient with Vectorworks with the ability to produce drawings to an excellent standard.
- Experience of producing tender packages including CAD drawings and detailed joinery
- Working collaboratively with design teams internally
- Working in a fast-paced design studio running multiple projects simultaneously
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods particularly working in the context of joinery
- Experienced in high-end residential or commercial projects.
- Knowledge and experience of architectural period detailing desirable.
The role would be on a freelance basis with hybrid working set up. You must be able to commute to our studio in Hampshire for regular meetings.
