CAD Technician

Our UK operations are growing rapidly, with over 140 professional staff providing process engineering, civil engineering, energy, environmental, international development consultancy, and project management services to a variety of clients.
Due to increasing project commissions and appointments, we are seeking to appoint a full-time experienced CAD Technician who will be responsible for supporting the project delivery team within NIRAS for our customers predominantly in the food industry. This role would suit a candidate who can demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skill with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D with experience of Hygenic Food & Beverage projects in the UK. About the job
- Piping design through all stages i.e. conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design
- Creating and modifying Piping GA’s / sections & elevations in 2D & 3D using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Creating and modifying Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s)
- Site surveying of existing food and beverage facilities around the UK
About you
- Excellent computer knowledge including Autodesk design suites & MS office suite
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, able to work as part of a team and to deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant Codes and Piping standards used throughout the Food & Beverage industry such as (DIN/ISO/BS/ASME etc.)
- Experience in the Process Plant Industry working in a project environment
- Able to work to own initiative ensuring design quality and technical accuracy or drawings
What we offer you
A starting salary of circa £37,000 - £39,000 per annum, depending on experience, with the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis, or based from any of our UK offices depending on your preference.
