CABINET SUPPORT OFFICER

Permanent

Grade 6 - £47,573 - £58,981

The Cabinet Office sits at the heart of Birmingham City Council, providing ‘best in class’ strategic and policy support to Cabinet Members and working with key strategic partners to achieve the best outcomes for the citizens of Birmingham. Part of the brand-new Strategic Partnerships, External Affairs and Corporate Leadership division, we maintain an outward-looking focus, proactively identifying opportunities to innovate new policy and raise the reputation of the Council.

We’re looking for bold innovators with a focus on delivering results, who are ready to take the next step in their career and make their mark in local government. In return, we’re offering unrivalled opportunities for personal and professional growth and development, in a fast-moving and supportive team that invests in your success.

The successful candidate will have transferable skills in policy research and development, alongside experience in managing and leading projects to success. With a passion for collaboration and innovation, and a commitment to bringing new ideas to Birmingham, you will ensure that Members receive the highest quality advice and strategic support to deliver for the Council and city. Helping to promote the Council’s agenda locally, regionally, and nationally, you are driven by the opportunity to make a difference and improve outcomes for citizens.

If you’re passionate about people, and committed to protecting the rich heritage, culture and communities of our vibrant city, we’d like to hear from you.

You must upload a Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application. This is required for shortlisting; you need to describe how your experience and skills fit the essential criteria for the role as specified in the Person Specification. If you do not attach your Supporting Statement, your application will not be considered. Please do not attach CVs as we do not accept them.
