£26,950 up to £36,300 *per annum - This isn’t wheeling and dealing. This is bringing variety to our customers.


Our Buying Administration department is one of the busiest here at Lidl GB and we are looking for a confident and motivated team player to join our Head Office Buying Admin Team on a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months, to take charge of EDI (Electronic data Interchange) onboarding and support our Secretaries in day-to-day tasks.

This is an ideal role for a positive and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and strives in achieving perfection.


You will support the team with administrative tasks as well as communicating internally across departments as well as with other Lidl countries. You will need to proactive, ambitious and able to manage your workload whilst proactively accepting new tasks.


We have moved to a hybrid working model with a recommended 2 days in the office per week for appropriate Head Office and Regional roles, empowering our teams to choose how and where they work best. What you'll do

  • Coordinating meetings, managing the agenda and consolidating minutes
  • Providing daily support – travel booking, meeting organisation, equipment management, emails, phone calls, pool car management and other ad hoc requests
  • Onboarding our suppliers on classic and Web EDI
  • Contacting suppliers on a daily basis and assisting through the onboarding process
  • Being the point of contact between the supplier and the buyer regarding EDI
  • Working towards clear targets of onboarding (Invoicing, ordering and despatch avis)
  • Liaise with other stakeholders in the business (such as Finance and Supply Chain) to define targets and report progress

What you'll need

  • Excellent command of the English language, German is beneficial but not an essential requirement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to evaluate processes for optimisation purposes
  • A genuine passion for performing administrative tasks effectively, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks to ensure accuracy and completion within given deadline
  • Motivated, proactive and willing to learn and develop within the role
  • Previous secretarial/administrative/office management experience would be advantageous Experience in EDI onboarding is highly advantageous
  • Experience working with customers or suppliers
  • A confident approach with excellent communication skills
