Job description
Providing vital administrative support for the Buying team, you will help to ensure that Loaf stays ahead of the competition. You will also be responsible for the smooth running of the critical path throughout the buying cycle. Our role involves working with UK and International suppliers as well as other departments within Loaf:
Some of what the job involves:
- System updates
- Critical path upkeep
- Building and maintaining an up to date and accurate critical path, containing all relevant information.
- Being aware of where each product is at any given time, chasing each through from product concept to final production and shipping to make sure any delays are minimised and communicated to the team.
- Chasing through samples, colourboards, hardware and components with suppliers.
- Leading a weekly meeting updating the ABs and Buyers on the status of all new product launches and flagging any potential issues.
- Creating launch documents and using these to update blackboards so all departments across the business have visibility of upcoming ranges.
- Sample and swatch management
- Working closely with the Design team to create and maintain a swatch library, meaning that you can locate these along with any samples held in the office with ease when requested.
- Placing requests for and chasing through samples for photoshoots, ensuring product reaches the warehouse in good time.
- Attending gold seal meetings, capturing all comments and communicating back to suppliers and internal teams in a timely manner.
- Carrying out regular competitive shops as requested by the Buyer and Merchandiser, to help them ensure Loaf product and prices are in line with the rest of the market.
- Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal teams and UK and overseas suppliers.
- Assisting Customer Service teams with any product related queries.
- Assist Accounts and Merchandising teams regarding discrepancies between range plan, the system and invoicing.
- Completing general administrative duties such as opening post, upkeep of the team area, arranging and tracking couriers and creating packs for meetings and trips.
What we'd like you to bring to the table:
- A Buying or Retail relevant degree or other qualification.
- A passion for product.
- The ability to perform under pressure.
- Highly organised.
- Flexible and adaptable, an ability to multi-task.
- Excellent communication skills and written and spoken English.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good commercial awareness.
- A methodical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Previous work experience within a Buying team would be preferred.
- Previous experience in retail, furniture preferred.
- An understanding of the Loaf brand and customer.
