Location: Blended working four days a week at our office based at the Council House, Derby, DE1 2FS and one day a week working from home
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join our Business Support Team as a Business Support Assistant. Business Support is Derby City Council’s centralised administrative service and provides a wide range of services across the different departments within the council. The role is based within the Document Management Centre, which provides reprographics, mailroom and scanning services.
We are looking for a friendly and approachable person who has experience of working within a busy office environment as part of a team and can uphold the fantastic reputation of Business Support and the council. The successful applicant will be responsible for dealing with customer queries face to face and over the phone and carrying out a wide range of administrative tasks relating to incoming and outgoing mail, scanning and indexing and external storage.

The requirements:
You must have:
- Recent relevant administrative experience
- Sound organisational, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Previous experience of handling and dealing with sensitive information
- A positive, problem solving attitude
- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- A relevant IT qualification or good experience of using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and Outlook)
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
