About the role

You will be responsible for the delivery of the core administrative and finance functions within the College of Life Sciences. You will lead a team of 20 staff (with seven direct reports), maximising their performance and ensuring they are appropriately resourced, developed and motivated so they can deliver an efficient and high-quality service.

You will take a proactive approach to process improvement, constantly looking for opportunities to shape and develop the administrative systems, processes and technologies within the team, and ensuring the priorities align with those of the wider College and University. You will also contribute to College-wide projects, supporting the delivery of the College’s strategic plans.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate a combination of leadership, project management and administrative experience, with a flexible and inclusive management style appropriate to the complexity and diversity of the University. You must have a high level of financial acumen, with an understanding of accounting processes and systems, including the use of a computerised system such as SAP.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with an ability to interact with staff at all levels and influence senior decision makers. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to people development and the organisational values and behaviours that underpin the culture and values of the University.
