Your Purpose
Are you looking for your first Finance Business Partnering role?
As Commercial Finance Business Partner you’ll provide coaching and commercial challenge; guiding decisions on investments and new initiatives as well as assessing trends and learnings from previous activity. Your role will be fundamental to the financial management of our business ensuring financial control & governance is continuously improved.
You’ll partner with our Regional Sales Team who sell our products into ‘on-trade’ clients, specifically pubs and restaurants. This is a fun, brand led client group – you’ll influence which deals come to fruition and be instrumental in getting our brands out there in the market.
You’ll gain exposure to stakeholders at all levels and build transferable skills that could see your career develop in a global business. Finance Business Partner roles are supported by our centralised Financial Analyst team, and there will also be coaching opportunities to ensure they have ongoing support.
We see this as a development opportunity – ideal if you’ve got some experience post qualification (maybe one or two roles) and looking for a business who will support you in building depth and breadth to your experience.
Our Finance team work on a hybrid basis, working Tuesday and Wednesdays from our head office in Burton on Trent. The role will involve ad-hoc travel to your client group, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Partnering with stakeholders to drive understanding, accountability and ultimately value for our business through provision of insight and analysis.
- Communicating financial business performance to a variety of non-finance stakeholders and creating understanding of actions or steps of change for the future.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting, ensuring operational focus on forecast accuracy.
- Running commercial surgery type sessions through internal IBP (S&OP) cycle to confirm alignment of plans and ensuring forecasts are based on latest expectations and trends.
- Completing annual budgeting (AOP), collaborating across teams to reflect future in line with customer and business strategies.
- Financial evaluation of proposals for investment or initiatives. This could vary from assessing return on investment on brand spend, understanding the relative benefits of Joint Business Plans in the off-trade or provision of advice on complex deal structures in the on-trade.
- Management of balance sheet, both of promotional and terms investment spend – advising commercial partners the relevant risk and opportunities.
- Ensuring Financial Control & Governance is maintained through thorough review of period end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support and financial lead on certain projects based on company needs based on the strategic objectives.
About You:
You’ll get as excited about our brands and industry as we do, and have the desire to grow your career at Molson Coors. You don’t necessarily have to have a pure finance background – you could be moving from audit for example. We’re also open to any sector experience but you’ll love fast pace, brand-led ways of working.
- You’ll have a recognised accounting qualification: ACA / ACCA / CIMA.
- You’ll have experience of working in a role where you’re working with financial data – and this would be a logical development opportunity.
- You’ll have strong financial analysis skills, knowledge of balance sheet and P&L
- You’ll have advanced Excel skills in analysis, reporting and commercial modelling.
- You’ll demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills at all levels, with the ability to simplify financial complexity when communicating to non-finance contacts.
- You’ll have the ability to build network and relationships.
