Today, BY TERRY offers customers revolutionary foundations, innovative mascaras, and long-lasting lipstick formulas, as well as a 'couture' beauty line of bespoke cosmetics.

General duties

Ensure that the counter of Selfridges achieves targets by driving the team. Duties including but not limited to:

Setting an example and mentoring your team, ensuring that yourself and any team members always provide the following:

  • An excellent level of customer service.
  • Active traffic stopping to attract new customers and build brand awareness.
  • Makeup and skincare consultations as per Company and Store requirements.

· Meet artistry expectations and have good artistry techniques while relaying the BY TERRY message.

  • Book appointments and build ongoing client loyalty. This includes customer database building for BY TERRY specifically as well as store databases to meet both Company and Store KPI expectations. Customers should be contacted regularly to check on how products are working and invite to events.
  • Ensure the counter is adequately stocked with products, keeping an eye on stock levels throughout the day and replenishing where necessary and to ensure products are displayed within current company guidelines.
  • Maintain the counter by cleaning surfaces and display areas daily with provided cleaning materials. Ensuring all consultation areas are always clean and ready to use. All surfaces, products and brushes should be cleaned and sanitised after each client. It is also vital that good personal hygiene practice is followed throughout the day and to the latest guidelines.
  • Effectively manage transactions. Stores where required will provide necessary cash handling training.

Role specific duties

  • Ensuring that all daily counter tasks are undertaken and that your team are all assigned and aware of specific duties.
  • Figures:
  • A strong understanding of the counter targets and counter performance at all times and ensuring that your team are aware of targets and how to achieve that goal.
  • Reporting of sales, daily and weekly – on an excel format. Ensuring that key areas are tracked fully and feed back is clear and relevant.
  • Stock management.
  • Always understanding what you have available and what you should have. Ensuring through regular communication with your manager and building in store relationships that out of stocks are avoided and kept to a minimum.
  • Rotas.
  • Managing your team and rotas in advance to ensure adequate counter cover always.
  • Understanding key trading times of the busines to plan for extra staff requirements in times such as sales or events.
  • Being commercially aware, understanding and communicating competitor information, the latest innovations, and offerings.
  • Delegating duties to the team and following up that they have been performed correctly.
  • Assisting with training new product launches. Promoting a healthy balance between artistry and commercial skills.
  • Ensuring that your team are always up to date with the Brand and stores latest guidelines and organise training where necessary.
  • To hold regular one to one’s with each of your team to provide feedback and organise training if necessary, to ensure that they are always able to meet their KPI’s.
  • Be an active team member. To be friendly, approachable, outgoing, punctual, extremely presentable, trustworthy, and reliable. You must ensure that your team are also displaying these characteristics.
  • You will be expected to produce your own content for social media and produce and submit at least one ‘look of the week’ each week. you must also ensure that your team are meeting these criteria.

Events

  • Design and deliver mini events and promotions, new ideas and activities and so new customers to the counter and brand.
  • Be able to recognise possible business opportunities in store and act on them quickly and efficiently – seeking support for these as needed.
  • Create links with other departments so that you are able to grow your business.
  • Be able to quickly install an extra activity as needed on slower business days.

Sales

  • Achieve all sales targets and KPI’s as set by the company, both personal and as a counter.
  • Be a good consistent seller who link sells all the time with the Hero 5 and newness and ensure that your team are also doing the same.
  • Achieve personally and ensure the team also achieve brand items per transaction (IPT) and average pound sale (A£S) expectations.
  • Currently set at:- IPT = 3. A£S - £150
  • Actively promote new launches and promotions, set individual targets for your team to achieve sales plans. Track sales of these which should be included in daily and weekly feedback.
