Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our service.
About the role
Our Business Intelligence Service is responsible for council-wide data collection, analysis, visualisation, and performance reporting.
This is a fixed term position for 20 months.
You will be dealing primarily with crime and disorder data using tools such as Excel and Power BI to analyse that data and provide insight.
You will be working closely with colleagues across the local authority, Avon & Somerset Police, and our partner organisations.
We offer a friendly and flexible working environment.
Whether you are a recent graduate or someone looking for a new challenge, we welcome people from a variety of backgrounds.
About you
You will need to come to us with a love of numbers and a curiosity for understanding what those numbers mean, strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to use your initiative to solve problems and contribute ideas to improving work practices and be able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
A background in data analysis related to Crime and Community Safety would be an advantage as would some experience in the use of a Business Intelligence reporting tool and an understanding of data connectivity such as APIs and data querying languages such as SQL.
If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you!
