The purpose of this role is to grow Payfuture’s book of new referral partners, gateways, and third-party platforms within emerging markets and be a dedicated point of contact for them.
The Business Development Manager builds trusting relationships and acts as an interface between partners, cross-functional teams, and merchants. The BDM holds the responsibility for the lead generation, initial contact, introductions, application, and onboarding processes of our clients. In addition, you will be required to cross-sell existing products to drive additional revenue streams.
As our Business Development Manager, you will have these main objectives:
- Generate a pipeline of new third-party gateways and payment orchestration platforms acting as exclusive referral partners to Payfuture
- Act as the Primary Commercial contact point for new Business representing Payfuture
- Seek new business prospects proactively to sell a mix of our products and services
- Contacting prospects and setting up meetings through multiple communication channels to maximise customer engagement
- Identify cross and up-sell opportunities, which can add value for customers and additional revenue
- Negotiate commercial and contractual terms
- Maintain the CRM system (HubSpot) for accurate reporting, forecasting and pipeline management
- Complete the full sales cycle with referral partners and merchants, until the client is ready to be handed over to our Account Management team
- Work with referral partners and continue to grow their portfolio of introduced merchants
- Travel to meetings with prospective clients and partners, and represent Payfuture at trade events where required
- Generate and monitor reports on personal performance for onboarded Accounts.
- Conduct ongoing market research
You will be a good fit if you:

- Hold a BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant fields with 3+ years of experience in Sales/Account Management
- Have a background in the payment industry or similar related roles
- Hold a track record of Sales quota attainment in the past 2 years
- Have a proven track record in generating new business
- Are hungry to exceed sales targets and are success driven
- Are able to perform independently and as part of a team
- Possess the ability to build relationships and network with internal and external groups (banks, suppliers, third parties)
- Have a working knowledge of PSP, Acquiring and Gateway solutions, with an understanding of Payment systems capabilities and features
- Are a Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and strong communication and presentation skills
- Are able always to perform the role of an ambassador for the organisation
- Are able to perform and be comfortable working in a dynamic and changing environment
- Are a strong self-starter and highly self-motivated
Salary Range
- GBP 35000 - GBP 50000/yr. (Depending on experience)
