Wells & Co.
Full Time Bedford, England 35000 - 26000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Do you love beer?

Are you passionate about pubs?

Want to work for Bedford’s newest and most progressive brewery?

Do you have experience in field sales?

Are you a good relationship builder?

Do you live near Bedfordshire and its surrounding counties?

If the answer to most of these questions is a resounding ‘YES!’ then we want to hear from you!

Built in 2020, Brewpoint is the new and progressive brewery from Wells & Co, a family run business in Bedford which was founded in 1876 and now owns around 200 pubs in and around the surrounding counties.

Producing a range of premium craft beers, cask ales and lagers across a range of formats, these truly outstanding beers currently serve the Charles Wells Pub Estate in the UK and abroad – but now we are ready to share these beers with hundreds of other pubs and this is where you come in…

To achieve our growth aims, we are looking to recruit ambitious fresh talent in an On-trade sales position to join our growing team. The role is field based and will sell our portfolio of beers to individual pubs who are “free of tie”, initially in and around Bedfordshire heartland.

Working alongside our wholesale customers, you will be responsible for getting our beers on the right bars with the right customers so beer fans who don’t drink in our pubs, can see what all the fuss is about and taste the goodness. You will work with plenty of autonomy as you build up your business as we look to drive our beer brands forward.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales & Marketing, you will be a key part of the sales team, backed up by the team at Brewpoint for support. You will be targeted on gaining (and keeping) new listings of our brands across a wide range of pub types and your knowledge of pubs and beers will become so vast you will soon be dreaming about it and boring your friends.

This is an amazing time to get involved. We need someone who is a team player, has an outstanding positive attitude, the drive to achieve and a real willingness to get stuck in. In return we offer you career progression, a fantastic team culture and a chance to help shape our future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build up knowledge of “free of tie” pubs which can be supplied by wholesale channel as the main route to market

  • Make sure all pubs present our beers with the right POS and meet brand standards

  • Budget responsibility for all POS usage in line with agreed POS policy
  • Weekly reporting - customer call plans and call report
  • Attend and present at internal team meetings
  • Attend/host meet the brewer nights where applicable
  • Develop and implement sales building activity across pubs where listed
  • Attend and promote our beers at festivals and events where necessary
  • Seek out beer related educational opportunities and keep up to date by reading industry Publications

Know-how required:

  • Previous experience of working in the on-trade industry (pubs, bars, beer, spirits)
  • Successful delivery on KPI's, to exceed targets and increase revenue
  • Proven background in developing engaging customer relationships
  • Cultural understanding and requirements of a brand and its target audiences
  • Confidence in selling and presenting brand initiatives
  • Demonstrable ability to set & deliver against strategic objectives
  • Aware of local trends and able to incorporate them in strategic sales approach
  • Determined and hard-working, hands-on and keep cool under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail with a diligent and a methodical approach

In return you will receive:

  • Salary based on experience c£30k basic + Bonus
  • Company Car

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Private medical health care
  • Group personal pension plan
  • Life assurance
  • 30% off dining and beer

If this sounds right up your street, then we would love to hear from you.
