These full-time roles are available immediately on a permanent basis. There is the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on Exeter Streatham campus and some from home.
Summary of the role
The University of Exeter is seeking two experienced business development managers who will serve as the University’s expert professional for building collaborations with organisations across commercial corporations, public services, policy making and education sectors. The position available will be mainly focused on sectors supporting the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy and will sit within the Data, Engineering and Physical Sciences team in the Innovation, Impact and Business (IIB) division.
The IPDM will have a clear focus on building collaborations for the University, prioritising the development of links with commercial companies in the South-West Region, nationally and internationally. There will be extensive opportunities to work with world-leading research concepts with the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy. The University of Exeter has specific strengths and opportunities in these areas with a significant range of academic, research and training offers and there will be extensive opportunities to work with world-leading research concepts and to network and collaborate.
The successful candidate will have experience of working successfully with partners from across academic, public and private sectors and will have extensive knowledge of public sector trends and research, education innovation opportunities and the knowledge exchange needs of Higher Education. They will be responsible for coordinating and driving existing activities in this area, identifying opportunities to deliver greater value to these sectors, working with researchers from across disciplines and colleges, and engaging with policy makers across the UK and globally.
IIB is the professional team that supports and drives this critical work. Its key aim is to secure significantly greater value and impact from relationships with partners drawing on the University’s education, research and physical assets. This includes research collaboration, commercial services, new venture development, skills, placements, and education partnerships.
