We are working in partnership with a market leader who are now seeking a Senior Product Developer to join their New Product Development Team. This is a newly created role due to sustained success and growth within the business.
To be successful in this role you will be an independent and proactive Development leader, a creative thinker and knowledgeable about ingredients. This role would be suitable for experienced Product Developers and Lead NPD Technologists who are looking for the next step in their career within the food industry.
THE ROLE:
- Lead and support the Development team to effectively deliver accurate projects.
- Manage Concept to launch process, new recipe development and quality improvement projects.
- Prepare and deliver professional and informative food presentations.
- Manage the sourcing of new raw materials, working collaboratively with Technical and Procurement.
- Lead and report product and ingredient benchmarking.
- Create nutritional information for all new recipes, providing allergen understanding.
- Complete all necessary paperwork ensuring checks are accurate and conclusions / recommendations are clearly communicated.
- Take an investigative approach during the concept and trial process, managing expectations and identifying risk.
- Lead NPD meetings - communicating projects with all key stakeholders and any issues identified.
- Analyse information and suggest recommendations to support successful completion of projects.
- Attend taste panels.
- Report business performance in regard to products and ingredients.
- Manage any changes and amendments, keeping all parties consistently updated.
- Prepare costings for recipe development ensuring the business is commercially efficient.
- Manage the recipe system.
- Ensure all necessary validations are prepared for including stock availability.
- Ensure the business is BRC audit ready at all times.
- Support with artwork generation working alongside Technical and Marketing.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Food related degree desirable but not essential.
- Experience of managing multiple projects and critical path.
- Passion for food.
- Positive ‘Can Do’ attitude.
- Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills.
- Enthusiastic and driven individual who enjoys being part of a team.
- Creative and Innovative.
- Confident, clear and engaging communicator.
- The ability to present compelling messages with strong influencing skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
