Solar Business Development Manager required
Hours: Full Time
Location: Remote w/travel to client sites & our regional offices for meetings.
Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 + commission (£80k OTE)

Due to company growth Tomato Homes & Tomato Energy have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to be a part of our successful story.
We are looking for an energetic, focussed, and self-motivated solutions-based Business Development Manager who will be responsible for developing new business in the commercial solar PV sector.
You will be providing direction & insight to win business for long term net-zero programmes. The successful candidate will have the presence to operate at all levels including senior C- level executives, be a great listener, and have a track record of winning new business.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for lead generation and managing leads that come into the business on Commercial scale solar projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Business Development Team Members are working effectively to maximize lead conversion and lead closure rates in assigned territories, as well as meeting or exceeding individual quotas.
- Ensure the highest level of attention is paid to lead conversion rates. Using reports and regular meetings to manage and track the process of converting leads from prospects to signed contracts.
- Work with Business Development Team to manage and analyse individual sales pipelines from beginning to end of sales cycle.
- Prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to handle all escalated pertinent customer concerns/issues with all necessary internal departments and stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Finance) to maintain consistent teamwork.
- Provide accurate information in all reporting.
- Co-create measurable and achievable monthly objectives to address new business development, sales targets, managing existing business, and when necessary corporate objectives with the management team.
- Ownership of customer relations issues, both in a proactive and reactive capacity.
- Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s products, the competition in the industry and positioning
- Execute expansion sales strategy in region
To Succeed in this role:
- Be commercially aware and able to deliver profitable proposals that meet internal guidelines
- Experience of generating and qualifying sales leads
- Must be an action-oriented individual with a high sense of urgency to accomplish goals
- Understand how to drive cost of revenue and margins to achieve sales targets
- Have a proven track record of commercial success in sales or similar roles
- Be organised and self-aware, consistently following up on leads and planning ahead
- Strong IT skills
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Drive and commitment to exceeding targets.
