We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to sell our biodiversity monitoring solutions to companies in the industrials sector, with a focus on the extractives and infrastructure industries.

Senior Business Development Manager – The Role

  • Develop & implement a sales strategy across North America
  • Identify new sales opportunities and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Managing multiple accounts of various scale and revenue
  • Nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and seminars on products.
  • Negotiate & close business to achieve sales targets.
  • Update & maintain records.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market dynamics & competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of our solutions & outstanding customer experiences.
  • Represent the company at national, regional, and local trade shows/conferences including events / seminars.

This role is North America based and as such, you must have the right to live and work in North America. You'll be required to periodically attend meetings at your contracted office, 590 Hanlon Creek Blvd, Guelph ON N1C 0A1.


Salary


70,000 - 85,000 CAD Base + Commission


Flexibility


This is a Hybrid based position. Approximately 50% of role requires travel across North America, with likelihood to increase to 75%. Any regular (weekly/monthly) travel to HQ is at your own expense.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

The Senior Business Development Manager North America, plays a primary role in generating new sales and managing business relationships with existing and new customers helping to grow the Nature Metrics North American business and further the adoption of eDNA technology.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Developing and implementing a sales strategy across North America.
  • Effectively prospecting and generating new customer leads and maintaining clear and up to date pipeline of opportunities.
  • Nurturing relationships with existing and new key stakeholders.
  • Managing multiple accounts of various scale and revenue.
  • Preparing and delivering technical / scientific presentations and seminars on products, including their capabilities and application.
  • Negotiating and closing business to achieve sales targets.
  • Engaging in accurate utilization and maintenance of the Company's customer database (CRM).
  • Staying current on industry trends, market dynamics & competitor activities.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of our solutions & outstanding customer experiences.
  • Representing the company at national, regional, and local trade shows/conferences including events / seminars.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Well-developed professional skills and commercial mindset with demonstrated ability to develop and close on business opportunities and manage key accounts.
  • Experience in the industrials sector – ideally across onshore and offshore extractives and infrastructure industries.
  • Commitment to delivering solutions which have a positive impact on nature.
  • Ability to conduct complex application focused conversations and presentations and engage in a collaborative sales process with key decision makers
  • Proven track record of winning business and establishing long term customer relationships.
  • A background in environmental management, ecological science, or nature-based solutions would be an asset.
  • Strong communication, negotiation & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally and work independently and remotely.
