Package: (Negotiable & D.O.E.) Circa £34,000 - £38,000 basic + bonus + car / car allowance

Our client is a very well-respected supplier of paint and decorating materials into the industrial / trade / wholesale sector. They are recruiting a Regional Business Development Manager on the industrial paint side covering the North and East of England.

Regional Business Development Manager / Industrial Paint Sales Representative / National Sales Manager

  • Working with the head office and the extensive branch network to drive new business and develop existing account spend on industrial paint.
  • A self starter with genuine drive to proactively develop new business opportunities.
  • Negotiation on price with margin in mind.
  • A relationship builder and people person.
  • Provide technical and product information where necessary.

Do you work within the paint sector and have some knowledge of fire retardant coatings, industrial floor paints or warrantied cladding and roofing protection systems. You may have the transferable skills and industry knowledge we need.

The ideal candidate would currently work within the paint world with some knowledge of industrial coatings but some of the specifics of industrial paint can be taught. This is a technical sales role so you must be able to demonstrate some kind of relevant knowledge though.

Attention to detail is key here, as you will be recommending specific products for specific applications, some of which will be guaranteed by the manufacturer, if used in the correct way and on the correct substrate. Crucially for you and the customer, there is a technical team who can advise on specifics.

With the largest stock range of decorating materials and paint on the market, our client are a fantastic brand within the market, extremely well thought of by their customers and colleagues alike with a current network of around 30 branches. Having secured investment the business is under going considerable expansion to their branch network, opening 25 new branches over the next 2-3 years throughout the Northern region, the Midlands and the South. The Industrial division of the company want to build on their recent success. The exciting part of this role is the integration of the Industrial Paint part of the company with the growing branch network, benefitting both parts of the business.

Generating new business / accounts is an important part of this role but in addition to this there is already a healthy account base who will require sterling service in terms of top quality account management. Proven sales experience is a must, although not necessarily from a previous area sales role.
