The Opportunity
EDF Wholesale Market Services (WMS) is a core business line within the EDF UK Customers Business that is at the centre of helping Britain achieve Net Zero. It provides industry leading wholesale market services to EDF’s supply and generation business units and to third party energy asset owners. The team operates in a broad and diverse range of market segments including residential & business supply, nuclear, renewable & thermal generation and storage & flexible energy.
We are looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join the WMS Commercial Team to grow the business and take responsibility for the development of new strategic customer relationships, growth of those relationships and retaining our current customers.

What you’ll be doing
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the whole customer experience and customer retention, guaranteeing the customer’s receive exceptional service and continue to feel satisfied with EDF.
You will develop a pipeline of opportunities with a personal sales plan to ensure the growth of the business which is achieved via new customers and growing the current customers relationship. You will deliver complex and high value deals, establish effective, long-term commercial relationships, and ensure a strong market presence and engagement with key players within the UK energy market.
Who you are
We are looking for somebody who has a very strong customer focus, good customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
You will have a track record of successful commercial negotiations, structuring and delivering complex and valuable deals, strong knowledge of account management activities and a strong commercial acumen. The Business Development Manager operates in a highly competitive and challenging market, ensuring EDF retains its leadership position, therefore you will be results oriented with a proven track record of establishing strong customer relationships.
