Some home working will be considered.

The PDM posts carry out a wide range of duties, leading on the development of programmes, management of delivery staff (Programme Development Workers and tutors), promotion and improvement of teaching and learning within DACES provision, liaising with partner agencies and monitoring achievement and progression. This includes:

Community learning - Engaging people in learning, supporting progression to other learning, to improve life chances and enhance independence including family learning and learning for personal development and wellbeing. Provision that includes free, self-financing or full-cost provision across the whole curriculum, programmes for local businesses, voluntary sector and other public sector organisations.

Qualification learning - Development and delivery of employability and qualifications up to Level 2 for adults, including supporting a 14-19 programme and adult learner loans provision; to prepare people and help them get into work.

Multiply - Multiply is a 3-year government funded programme to increase the levels of functional numeracy in the adult population across the UK. Around 17 million adults in England (half of the working aged population) have the numeracy skills of a child leaving primary school. DACES is one of the key delivers of this high-profile programme, with targets to reach Derbyshire residents who don’t have a level 2 qualification in Maths and increase their participation in numeracy courses and thus increase their functional numeracy.

This new role will be focussed primarily on co-ordinating the delivery of DACES Multiply offer. This will involve working with the Multiply Programme Development Worker to promote a Derbyshire-wide programme for employers to investigate the numeracy needs of their employees and deliver appropriate targeted training to meet these needs. The postholder will also work with other DACES staff to ensure that targets are met for our Multiply work with schools (parents) and communities across Derbyshire. The post is fixed term until 31 March 2025.

A casual car user allowance is attached to this post but it is possible for the allowance to be converted to other forms of transport where there is a requirement to undertake travel as part of this post.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
