ROLE

A primary focus on proactively identifying, assessing and developing New Business opportunities. To direct business development activities, establish relevant strategies, harnessing internal resources and developing long term client relationships in order to achieve both individual and divisional financial targets and KPI’s.

Business Development

  • Achievement of individual targets, agreed with Vice President, Business Development – Unlicensed.
  • Development and execution of rolling 12 month business development strategy for target and existing clients
    • Responsible for maintaining Action Pans for active and potential clients in the Client Account Summary document
  • Effective identification, profiling, research and targeting of potential clients to develop New Business opportunities, including;
  • Research into industry and client development news, trends and assess impact on current and future opportunities
  • Understanding of client’s development strategies and translate into added value and ethical solutions
  • Update of Customer Relationship Management [CRM] and Opportunity Pipeline relevant to assigned client targets.
  • Collaborate with senior members of Clinigen Group to extend networks, identify client contact opportunities and plan BD approach.
  • Provide the team with regular updates on resource implications of leads progressing through the business development process.

Business Development Strategy

  • Actively and successfully direct and manage the sales process from developing the initial value proposal through to providing solutions ensuring profitability is ethically maximized
  • Oversee negotiation process with clients including formalizing major contractual agreements [e.g. CDA/MSA] and negotiating terms.
  • Work effectively with the team to identify, understand and manage client relationships in order to deliver the Group sales target.
  • Effectively work to identify new supply route opportunities and to continually improve service to clients.
  • To secure line management approval for all terms transactions over current agreed client terms limits.
  • Ensure effective communication with Finance in all terms and related payments issues.
  • Effectively and ethically maintain Sales Log.
  • Managing inquiries as they are received into the organisation (from internal/external sources)
  • Ensuring all inquiries are responded to within agreed client service level expectation/ SLA’s.
  • Provide accurate, ethical and timely quotes in an effective timeframe.

Client Relationship Development

  • To build strong, long-term relationships with all clients through effective personal networking
  • To provide the highest standards of service and ethical solutions and to therefore position Clinigen as our client’s partner of choice
  • Regularly update clients on Group and Division strategies and capabilities
  • Understand and exceed client value drivers and performance expectations
  • To be accountable for minimum required BD activity levels e.g. client appointments per month
  • Liaise with client study team to manage enquiries and understand upcoming requirement pipeline
  • Maintain Influence on Spend maps and Client/Prospect summaries using agreed current format

Operational Management

  • Ensuring the execution of managed access projects against parameters of purchase orders
  • Liaising with customers and team to ensure effective communication of timeframes
  • Prioritizing enquiry flow to ensure team are strategically focused as per client expectations
  • Ensure consistent and high levels of service are delivered against all enquiries and projects
  • Working to identify operational opportunities to improve client experience

Personal

  • Develop a working knowledge of all of the businesses in the Clinigen Group
  • Contribute as an effective member of the Clinigen Team
  • Participate in the development of the team by providing client feedback, collaborative approach and appropriate motivation
  • Ensure client-centric focus and high levels of service (internal & external) is engrained into all aspects of BD role
  • Operate in the role according to the Clinigen Values and lead by example
  • Follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures, regulatory and legal requirements
  • Maintain a good understanding of the regulatory environment
  • Liaise with internal partners to support and improve the quality of service offering to clients Actively participate in the Company’s performance development review process
  • Continue to develop own talents and strengths and address any areas of self-development

REQUIREMENTS

Skill Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of working within the pharmaceutical industry/business-to-business environment
  • Experience of working within the pharmaceutical services sector
  • Experience of working at a Global level
  • Demonstrable record of consistent achievement of results
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented environment
