The Black Sheep Brewery is an independent, award-winning brewery in the beautiful town of Masham in the Yorkshire Dales and we are looking to recruit a full-time Business Development Manager (North East & North Lakes) within our On Trade Sales – Local Direct Channel.
Role Profile:
· To achieve the Local Direct Channel volume and profit targets within defined sales region.
· New Business: Win and maintain permanent listings for the Black Sheep portfolio.
· Existing business: Grow volume and profit with current stockists
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Inspire our customers by championing the Black Sheep Brewery with huge passion and enthusiasm.
- Enthuse internal staff with your positive “can do” attitude.
- Win and maintain distribution of Black Sheep brands across cask, keg and packaged portfolio in line with agreed KPIs.
- Grow volume and profit with current customers in line with agreed KPIs.
- Maximise brand margin and profitability at all times.
- Protect brand value at all times.
- Budget responsibility for all POS usage in line with agreed POS policy.
- Weekly reporting: a) Weekly customer call plans b) Call report to line manager.
- Share best practice and insight with other sales team members and Marketing team.
- Share observations of competitor activity in market and generate / share “at the coal face” insights with Sales & Marketing functions.
- Attend and present at team meetings.
- Work alongside Marketing Managers to execute agreed promotional plans and sales drives.
- Work with Telesales team to maximise efficiencies in building growth with
customers.
- Attend / host “meet the brewer nights” where applicable.
- Work with the Finance team to achieve credit control targets.
- Adhere to Black Sheep Brewery policies and procedures across all areas of
responsibility.
Experience:
A sales background is key, with strong interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to work with a broad spectrum of internal and external contacts. The successful candidate will have an ability to build and develop relationships, have a record of achievement of delivery in a commercial environment, demonstrating excellence in both planning and implementation and will be experienced at influencing and achieving commercial advantage and building relationships.
