Job description

Meet Playground ✨

Playground is a web 3 social platform where everyone can build and belong to a community. Our mission is to connect people through shared experiences and interests, creating more meaningful relationships online and in real life.

We are an international team of technologists, operators, and marketers committed to our values of community, participation and play. Currently, we work in a fast-paced remote environment, based in NYC and London, UK. We’re building a framework and foundation for a new kind of social playground that is more inclusive, connected and fun, and hope you will help us bring it all to life!

The Role

Playground connects people through shared experiences. Experiences are dreamt up by creators who organise and build community. Community is at the heart of why we do what we do, and our BD interns, Culture and People are key in defining who will lay the foundation of the Playground community – a community of communities.

BD duties Here:

  • Develop an engaging and expansive community-building strategy with our Chief Creative Officer.
  • Outreach, engage, and onboard communities/creators and venues to Playground
  • Organise past relationships and re-engage strategic creators
  • Organise interviews and social content with Communities on Playground with our CCO
  • Develop communication strategies to strengthen and maintain relationships with members of the Playground community
  • Create effective feedback loops for the product team to leverage key community members as well as broad Playground usage to drive product decision making.
  • Monitor & report on community health to identify pain points and implement solutions
  • Represent the Playground community on behalf of the business

We’re looking for:

  • An enthusiastic member of 3-5+ years of experience in community building and culture
  • Someone who thrives in ambiguous environments, excited about finding solutions to complex problems, and then executing on them.
  • Someone who is passionate about innovation and excited to inspire Creatives on their journeys to success
  • An organised self-driven creative thinker
  • Someone who is outgoing and enjoys meeting new people and making connections
  • Strong product sense and pride in understanding your customers
  • Prefer to chart the course rather than be micromanaged
  • Looking to work with a psychologically-safe and values-driven team
  • Excited to have direct impact on a young brand in a hot space

Bonus points!

  • A love for helping & empowering others
  • Experience working remotely with international, often asynchronous teams a plus
  • Have helped build communities before as an admin or moderator
  • A passion for getting out of your comfort zone and gaining new experiences
  • An event organiser or leader of your own community!

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Cultural Curator / Enjoys going out and meeting new people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with web and social media analytics tools.
  • Passion for entrepreneurship, startups, and community building.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Benefits

Salary
We offer competitive salaries meant to support and engage our team members. All team members work alongside the founding team - consistent communication is a foundational tenet of the company.

Work Remotely
Your contribution to the team is what matters, not where you live. We support you working remotely and are continually fostering new ways to keep our remote team empowered.
As long as you are available to collaborate with the team during our core work hours (EST), you can flex your schedule however you’d like.

Team Spirit
We are explorers at heart. From sailing across the world, to backpacking in India, or throwing New York’s most beloved underground parties according to Vogue, our team cherishes amazing experiences and is actively building a culture of amazing times.
