An exciting opportunity has opened up in Castleford Tigers' Commercial Department.
Job Title: Business Development Executive
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
Salary: Negotiable
Location: The Mend-A-Hose Jungle, Wheldon Road, Castleford, WF10 2SD
Reporting to: Commercial Director
Role Summary
The successful candidate will generate income for the club by recruiting new partners and ensuring high levels of account management to retain these partners each year. This role will include selling all commercial opportunities available at the club and Castleford Tigers Foundation such as match day hospitality, event sponsorship, digital and printed advertising, player sponsorship, Castleford Tigers Business Club and ROAR magazine.
The successful applicant will play a key part in the commercial team to support and enhance the club’s commercial offering across all elements of the business.
The role will also encompass a number of other jobs in line with the club’s requirements which will enhance the smooth running of the commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Increase Castleford Tigers Club and Foundation income and partner base through recruiting new partners to work with the club
- Recruit new members to the Castleford Tigers Business Club.
- Manage and organise the successful running of Castleford Tigers Business Club events
- Maximising sales of commercial opportunities available to a partner
- Selling advertising space in ROAR magazine, social media advertising and match day hospitality
- Understand and promote Castleford Tiger’s partner benefits
- Account management of new Castleford Tiger’s partners to ensure high levels of retention
- Be proactive in generating appointments/meetings either by referral, networking or telephone
- Work with colleagues to develop and support partner benefits.
- Working with the Commercial Executive to deliver admin responsibilities to fulfil partner packages such as contract writing, creating databases and liaising with the accounts team to ensure smooth invoicing and payment.
- Working with the commercial team to enhance the commercial offering at the club for partner and sponsors.
- Being a key member of our matchday hospitality experience.
- Promoting the Castleford Tigers brand and ethics.
Key requirements
- A commercially astute individual with sales experience and a proven track record in delivering quantifiable results with a desire to achieve and exceed targets.
- You will be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences and sectors.
- You will have experience of account managing businesses, ideally in a B2B environment
- Flexibility of hours to suit the workload and working requirements of events (including evenings and weekends).
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Approachable and ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience of working within the sports industry or rugby league is desirable.
- Full driving licence and own vehicle.
This is a full-time permanent position, and the successful candidate will be required to work matchdays and events.
