Our client is a leading international law firm, looking for a talented BD professional to join their financial services team. This role involves working alongside the BD Manager for these groups to successfully drive their MBD activities forward. The role's responsibilities include:
- Using market awareness and product knowledge to identify trends that support the BD strategy
- Facilitating cross-selling opportunities with other sector/practice/country teams
- Managing bids and tenders, collaborating with fee earners and the wider BDM team, using the firm's bids platform
- Managing campaigns and targeting initiatives
- Managing relationships with external organisations/partners, inc. monitoring return on investment
- Active involvement in client development projects and maximising revenue generation
- Utilising social media and PR opportunities to maximise BD initiative outcomes and promote press releases covering deal activity
- Event preparation, inc. drafting materials, logistics liaison, and identifying benefits and purposes with relevant fee earners
- Developing marketing materials using technology - webinars, videos, apps, etc
- Management and advising regarding the MBD budget
- Tracking and reporting on new business leads generated through marketing and BD activities
- Updating and promoting the firm's web-based platform to support high-growth businesses
- Internal communication of team news across groups within the firm
The ideal candidate would have:
- Previous experience in a professional services environment and dealing with partners and key stakeholders, ideally on an international basis
- Experience working in a corporate or tax team of an international law firm or in financial services (advantageous, but not compulsory)
- Strong commercial awareness
- Experience in the full spectrum of MDB activities, specifically in pitching, targeting, and campaigning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and other platforms (InDesign/Salesforce) is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility, willingness to learn, and relationship-building skills
