We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Director to join our new Aquapanel division. The role will see the post holder work a field based role with Nationwide travel.
Job Purpose
To ensure the Aquapanel Business Development product and company budgets are met by the effective leadership of the direct and associated teams. Key to the position is the development of skills within the team and wider business. This also includes potential driven sales activity to ensure that profitable and sustainable business pipeline is created, tracked and secured using Salesforce OneCRM.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Leadership of relevant Business Development to ensure sales objectives are met.
- Implementation of business strategy and processes to maximise sales and profitability across the Aquapanel product ranges.
- Close engagement with Aquapanel colleagues in Europe including attendance at relevant meetings where necessary
- Development of a committed and loyal team through coaching, training and management to achieve high levels of performance
- Create productive relationships with the regional sales and other business development teams to deliver solutions across the value chain.
- Management of mix of repeat and new business to meet budgets consistently.
- Representation of Knauf at appropriate customer and industry events.
- Using own experience and marketplace knowledge to provide ideas and suggestions for product development using the appropriate mechanisms
- Delivery of the agreed strategies and budgets, through and an effective and segmented customer split.
- Hold and develop key customer relationships directly and coach throughout the relevant teams.
- The role will require close liaison with the other departmental heads to help implement strategy to satisfy the wider objectives of the business and deliver continuous improvement.
- You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others
- Contribute to Knauf’s sustainability strategy of People, Planet, Prosperity.

Requirements:
- Sound forecasting and planning skills.
- Good technical understanding of the specification route to market, specifically experience exterior wall systems would be advantageous
- Excellent understanding of the construction products market
- Ability to establish and maintain high quality partnership relationships with all stakeholders.
- Show structured problem evaluation and solving skills.
- Leadership of employees and peers to gain contribution and activity to meet the budgets.
- Shows an ability to use structured problem evaluation and solving skills.
- Displays a competent knowledge of company HR, H&S and compliance policies.
- Displays a competent knowledge of IT to ensure suitable interfacing with company IT systems.
- Management of PPD process.
- High levels of stamina and mental alertness, to be able to perform calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and ability to influence at all levels.
