JOB OVERVIEW

The Communications and Business Development Coordinator will assist the corporate leadership team with all communications, marketing, and business development tasks, with a primary focus on social media management, multi-media design and content creation, and administrative organization of business development efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate brainstorming, planning, and execution of all marketing initiatives.
  • Plan, create, and manage social media content on all company platforms.
  • Create graphics, multi-media images, and video content for proposals and all external marketing materials.
  • Produce high-quality, employee-facing digital content for internal communications.
  • Carry out administrative and data entry-related tasks and maintain organized files for marketing.
  • Support subject matter experts and business unit leaders in resolving gaps in capture intel and with proposal responses.
  • Assist in planning, researching, writing, and editing proposals to comply with the company's guidelines and standards for readability, consistency, and tone.
  • Maintain proposal schedules to ensure proposals meet all customer requirements, are of a high standard, and are submitted on time.
  • Assist in ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained on all documents and submissions, and in relevant databases and filing systems.
  • Perform administrative functions related to capture and proposal development, including documenting business development updates using the online CRM.

Additional Duties May Include:

  • Maintain awareness of social media, marketing, and communications trends and adapt accordingly.
  • Act as a brand champion, ensuring consistent and cohesive use of all brand guidelines.
  • Assist business unit managers, business development personnel, and senior leadership with research on government opportunities and customer needs that can be used to create strategies and proposals for business development.
  • Assist in researching, writing, editing, and maintaining other standard materials including capability statements, data calls, presentations, white papers, and templates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as English, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business, Public Relations, or Journalism.
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in communications, marketing, proposal development, business development, program management support, or proposal management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clearly and concisely articulate, in written and verbal styles.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, MS Project, and web portals.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite of Products.
  • Advanced aptitude with various social media platforms as well as the metric tracking tools associated with them.
  • Proficient in graphic design elements as they relate to both technical and social media graphics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to accept task direction and provide reporting to senior leadership.
  • Capability and willingness to work extended hours on short notice, as required by proposal deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • General office environment
  • The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers and books.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • In addition, specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
