Business Development is a key part of the business as we strive to achieve significant growth over the next few years. This role is an excellent opportunity to provide operational and analytical support across the whole Business Development Team. You will support and coordinate sales activities, maintain client communications, and monitor and report on various metrics across the sales pipeline. The information, interpretation, and recommendation you provide will form the basis for many of our sales decisions and identifying areas of opportunity and focus.
You will be responsible for lead generation and converting them into opportunities to hand over to the Business Development Managers and Directors. You will also support marketing initiatives, and collate, analyse and provide critical market research, information and statistics to the wider Business Development team and to Phorum Directors. Your work plays a key role in communicating a unique, compelling value proposition that is strategically appropriate for each prospect customer and that provides solutions to customer pain points / challenges and which is based upon the Company’s unique competitive advantages and core competencies.
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for lead generation, driving the lead pipeline development and converting them into opportunities to hand over to the Business Development Directors/Managers.
- Reaches out to leads with an appropriate pitch, understands customer pain points/ challenges and creates lead records onto the CRM system
- Liaise with the Business Development Directors/Managers on their sales plan to provide support for development and execution of prospect lists to generate leads and convert them to opportunities
- Supports marketing initiatives, maximises translation of inbound marketing qualified leads to converted opportunities
- Promotes the Phorums using all appropriate Business Development channels
- Liaises with the Business Development team members to deliver email campaigns in accordance with set criteria. Create views for specific types of email lists, ensure test runs and executes the campaigns to drive lead generation
- Responsible for responding to all incoming enquiries and leads (membership, download and general enquiries) quickly.
Market Research
- Identify prospect companies and contacts via different channels such as news articles and LinkedIn searches and update CRM system accordingly
- Update CRM system from intel gathered from internal stakeholders
- Conducts market analysis of the different Phorums, market condition and current landscape and present this information to the relevant Business Development Director/Manager
- Provides market research related to all Phorums or BioPhorum for BD sales activities only
- Oversees competitor analysis and monitor this to ensure it is up to date
Sales Operations
- Liaises with each Business Development Manager/Director to ensure that our CRM Microsoft Dynamics is up to date
- Support all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the team
- Report on data quality metrics to executive level stakeholders
- Deliver sales metrics, dashboards and other ad-hoc analytical tasks
Essential knowledge, skills and abilities
- Experience in a sales operations role in the Pharmaceutical and / or Biotechnology industry
- Has a commercial background and understands the sales cycle
- Experience in researching and gathering market data, and collaborating with internal stakeholders
- Excellent collaborator with a team support mindset
- Experience using a CRM system
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interrogate, report on and present data
- Exceptional attention to detail, prioritization and organizational skills
