Location: Whilst your base office will be in London, we’ll support you to work flexibly from home (providing a suite of IT equipment), whilst coming together on site to offer face to face support and collaboration once a week or when required

Salary: Starting from £51,200 depending on experience + excellent benefits

Join EDF’s Wholesale Market Services (WMS) team and play a leading role in transforming our Trading and Commercial capabilities as we help Britain Achieve Net Zero with our market leading Wholesale Market Services.

As a Business consultant you will be accountable for shaping, formulating, directing, and supporting the delivery of large-scale business change initiatives undertaken by the business.

Wholesale Market Services (WMS) is responsible for managing the gas and electricity energy needs of our residential and business customers and for managing the needs of the Generation fleet. Activities across WMS include, modelling and analysis, demand forecasting, portfolio hedging, short term optimisation and Generation liaison.

The opportunity…

As the Business Consultant, you will be accountable for identifying and investigating the commercial outcome, understanding the business operating model and context, and defining the optimal approach for delivering customer and business benefits.

You will be responsible for identifying the optimal solution and method of delivery that provides maximum benefit balanced against investment & risk appetite, act as a trusted and well-informed advisor of business improvement and technology services to the business and provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders.

The Business Consultant will work with multiple development partners in developing, building, and delivering software and business solutions of strategically large and complex projects to the business.

This role also provides the opportunity to coach and mentor other Business Analysts within the same functional area, providing set-up and assurance reviews to set the right standards and ensure the quality aspects of deliverables within projects.

What we’re looking for…

With strong business acumen and excellent industry knowledge, you will have an interest and understanding of the trends and direction of the UK Utilities marketplace and EDF Energy’s position within. You will understand the core business processes underpinning the company’s operation, the value they deliver and the control mechanisms by which they are managed.

As the Business Consultant, you will be required to work closely with internal and external stakeholders, therefore the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships is key for this role.

Within the role, you will have the opportunity to provide leadership and mentoring to members of the team, therefore we are looking for somebody with excellent interpersonal skills, a keen people leader and somebody who is accustomed to operating successfully at a senior and influential level.
