Job Description
The Commercial Accountant and Business Partnering supports the Commercial Finance Lead & Head of Commercial Accounting and operates in a fast paced environment.
Commercial Bidding & Financial Modelling- using Excel (V Look ups and pivot tables)
- Obtaining information required to inform a commercial financial model in a timely manner
- Build and develop Excel financial models to support bidding for new contracts including full cash flow forecasts.
- Models will need to be easily adaptable, capable of allowing sensitivity analysis to enable strategic pricing and performance decisions to be made.
- Models must be user friendly and must be able to perform profitability analysis based on project outputs, be fully secure and linked where necessary to source data from other workbooks
- Ensure the accurate and robust completion of customer bid submission spreadsheets to an exemplary standard
- Lead on the presentation of Bid Financial Models to the Board of Directors and other bid lead
Forecasts and Budgeting
Provide support to the Commercial Finance Lead and Head of Commercial Finance in developing models for the annual budgeting and strategic review process, for new business.
Business Partnering
- Confidently communicating with other key bid stakeholders
The Successful Applicant
The successful Commercial Accountant and Business Partnering will be confident and have a proven track record in the following:
- Management accounting experience- particularly around budgets and forecasting
- Demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced environment
- Proven ability to convey financial information to non financial managers with the ability to confidently influence and support colleagues towards achieving business objectives
- Proven analytical and reporting skills
- Proven commercial acumen
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel ( use of V look ups, pivot table)
- Excellent attention to detail
- A team player with good interpersonal, relationship building, networking and communication skills.
- Ability to deal with and manage through conflicting priorities and a number of tasks running concurrently
- The ability to grasp complex processes quickly
- Committed to external deadlines during bidding activity and ability to adjust to the intensity accordingly
- Qualified in CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA or equivalent.
