Your team: We are The Times: The Times informs, entertains, campaigns and innovates. Our technology team is at the heart of this innovation and helps support a highly creative, multi-channel media operation that has a heritage of modernity, of being first and creating change.
Your role: We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join The Times ‘Growth’ team.
This product team is focused on our non-subscribers, from anonymous traffic hitting us for the first time to repeat or registered users. The team manages the transition from an unknown reader to a known reader. Historically, The Times has always had a hard paywall and you’re either in or you’re out. Our mission is to find the right value exchange for every reader.
Day to day you will:
Improve our checkout and registration customer journeys
Experiment with our paywall capability to give readers the right offer at the right time
Conversion Rate optimization through our acquisition funnel
Take new proposition ideas and bringing them to life across our product, so that we give our readers added value throughout their Times experience
Get the basics right - readers can manage their subscription with ease
Exploring new B2B customer segments
You’ll show passion for technical challenges and the bravery to take risks with bold ideas. We want you to help us build self-organised, highly motivated teams with the curiosity to unravel complex problems and the optimism to take exciting, innovative approaches.
What we’re looking for from you:
Experience working in a software development environment with Engineering/ Product teams
Experience working with Jira and working with Product Owners to break their requirements down to be clearly understood by the scrum team.
Skilled and structured in analysis and requirements elicitation techniques that identify business or customer value
Experienced in problem solving and able to absorb a range of sometimes conflicting requirements to narrow down potential solutions to provide options and recommendations.
Experience facilitating conversations outlining potential solutions and prioritising options based on business value or required outcomes
Contribute towards creating a trusted empowered team that feels comfortable handling challenging conversations around scope, benefits, failure and ways of working
A great communicator able to influence and communicate at every level, share risks, assumptions and constraints effectively with dev teams and business stakeholders alike
Deliver in agile/iterative environments with experience of methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban and Lean. Understanding of iterative product development including MVP, prototyping and lean start-up techniques.
