Job description
Data Gumbo is an award-winning disruptive innovator, as noted in the Forbes Energy Awards. We provide industry with a trusted transactional network to automate contract execution for tomorrow’s leaders through GumboNet™, a massively interconnected blockchain network. With integrated real-time capabilities that power smart contracts, our network reduces contract leakage, frees up working capital, enables real-time cash and financial management and delivers provenance with unprecedented speed, accuracy, visibility, and transparency.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Data Gumbo has a subsidiary office in London, United Kingdom; and Stavanger, Norway, the Middle East and plans for Latin America to serve our growing customer base. We are funded by the venture arms of two of the world’s largest energy companies, and the VC firm L37.
We are in early transition from start-up to a commercially proven, profitable company, with the mission to become the world’s largest smart contract network for industrial sectors to experience transactional certainty, which includes helping to meet companies’ reporting needs around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
The Business Analyst serves as the key interface between the development team and customers, both internal and external. Business Analysts are responsible for refining customer wants and needs into functional requirements. Based on their knowledge of the product, the customers and the market, the Business Analyst helps the Product team define and prioritize the Product Road Map. This position is customer facing and will expose the Business Analyst to all facets of the company.
Day-to-day, the primary role of the Data Gumbo BA is to provide the specifications for the smart contract code which will automatically calculate and execute the payment mechanisms of a contract. The BA will need to work with customer subject matter experts to understand the source data feeding into the smart contract, the operations covered by the contract, and model them in a way which leads to the correct charge calculations for those operations. The BA will then need to support Data Gumbo developers in writing effective and robust smart contract code based off the specifications and support in testing and ultimate live deployment.
Under supervision of the Customer Success lead and with support from the development team, the BA will need to rapidly acquire the skills needed to use the proven tools and techniques developed by Data Gumbo so far. As a new field of expertise, there is ample scope to expand on and improve the tools and techniques employed in technical contract analysis – a strong BA candidate will want to take advantage of this opportunity and contribute more broadly through refinement of our existing processes and developing innovative approaches, and eventually teach them to future BA hires and 3rd party partners.
