About us
As Great Britain’s electricity system operator (ESO), we sit at the heart of the electricity system, using our outstanding engineering and commercial expertise to balance electricity supply and demand. Ultimately, we keep the electricity flowing directly to where it’s needed, second by second.
This role can be based from Wokingham or Warwick ( 2 days a week onsite), and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
Job Purpose
This Business Analyst role will work within a small team in one of our core operational business areas – Data and Analytic team. The role consists of project-based business analysis, consisting of a Data transformation initiative. A successful candidate will be given support, guidance and mentoring by Senior Business Analysts and the Principal Business Analyst for this business area.
Key Accountabilities
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the Electricity System Operator, particularly within operational teams
- Elicit requirements / User Stories - methodology will be project depending
- Review design and test documentation to ensure alignment to requirements / User Stories
- Provide analytical support to a project throughout delivery, including reviewing any change or defect requests
Experience Required
- BA experience
- A strong analytical mindset
- Good stakeholder engagement skills
- Good data skills
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to work in a complex, interrelated domain
- Experience working as the sole BA on their project, albeit with the support and guidance listed above
Desirable Knowledge
- Knowledge of the electricity industry, and electricity system operation in particular
- A professional BA qualification (e.g. BCS BA Diploma or equivalent)
- Experience with data transformation projects
- Experience working in both waterfall and agile projects

Salary between £40,000 - £50,000
