Data Business Analyst - (Part-Time, Job-Share, Full-Time)

The opportunity:
Are you truly passionate about data? We’re currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Data Business Analyst to join our team. As a Data Business Analyst, you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of data products to facilitate data-led decision-making and enable business change right across the organisation. You'll be working across the project lifecycle, alongside colleagues and third-party providers in a highly collaborative and delivery-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for turning complex data into actionable outcomes.

What will you be doing?
- Gather and document business requirements, ensuring the needs of both internal and external parties are reconciled
- Analyse data to inform solution design, ensuring accuracy, completeness and integrity
- Perform analysis of the use of data across end-to-end business processes to understand end-to-end data impacts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business challenges
- Present complex problems and analysis results in a simplified manner to technical and non-technical users
- Identify data quality issues, investigate root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Contribute to the functional design of data products, working closely with Data Architects and our Data Science, Engineering and Visualisation colleagues in preparation of data requirements, detailed definitions and other design artefacts
- Contribute to the planning and analysis approach, adapting departmental standards and influencing organisational ones to meet project and operational needs
- Contributing to our data governance journey by implementing and adhering to our data management best practise
- Work alongside third-party providers to ensure scoped solutions fully meet the business need
- Collaborate with team members to enhance our data ecosystem, data models and related analytical capabilities
- Perform peer reviews for project and operational artefacts to ensure specified standards are attained
- Provide support for testing and business readiness activities to ensure the seamless delivery of change
What are we looking for?
- As one of our BAs, you'll be able to evidence end-to-end experience of the project lifecycle and be able to provide business analysis across a range of projects or operational workstreams. This will include support for system testing and UAT
- You'll be able to demonstrate a range of techniques for eliciting and documenting requirements, know more than one delivery methodology, and be able to tailor an analysis approach and requirements artefacts to the needs of each project or analysis task
- You will demonstrate an understanding of how data can shape business decisions
- Experience in working with data at a detailed level, and understanding how data can be structured and utilised for reporting and analytics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets
- Ideally, you will be proficient in data analysis tools such as SQL or similar, and be familiar with one or more reporting platforms such as Qlik, Power BI etc
- You'll be people-centric and have personal communication skills to build rapport and communicate clearly with stakeholders in person and writing. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- You will have experience in gathering together relevant contextual information, including information on existing systems and data, and business process models
- Attention to detail is a must, with a true commitment to data accuracy and integrity
