Job description
Job Summary: Business process reengineering specialist responsible for gathering functional and technical requirements and reengineering business processes for the United States Coast Guard systems such as ALMIS, AMMIS, EAL, ACMS and DSS.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field OR at minimum A.A./A.S. in related field OR IT Certification.
- One (1) year of experience in providing support in a related field.
Essential Duties:
- Uses JIRA to document requirements or oversee project progression
- Suggests technical and functional approaches to the client, and makes recommendations to the users regarding the most effective and efficient approaches.
- Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, user stories, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
- Acts as a liaison between business units, development teams, and support teams to interpret business issues, opportunities and user requirements and distinguish between the real business needs vice user desires.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, focus groups, and end-users to proactively communicate up to date and relevant information as well as analyze, evaluate, and develop technical solutions and prototypes for widespread application products.
- Captures user requirements through User Stories using workflow diagrams, models, and documentation where necessary to ensure that knowledge is retained within the team and organization.
- Establishes requirements traceability matrices to ensure each system requirement is properly traced.
- Works closely with the delivery team to develop, document and verify testing of release related requirements for the entire lifecycle phase.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use Agile Software Development process to develop and release iterative and incremental pieces of a project
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience performing business and requirements analysis for IT projects
- Experience using JIRA software
